Biography

Dr. Rafis Nin, Ph.D., LCSW-QS, is a bilingual psychotherapist, EMDR therapist, educator, and speaker with more than 25 years of clinical experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. His work integrates psychotherapy, coaching, and relational approaches to help people navigate difficult experiences while rediscovering meaning, resilience, and emotional connection.

Specializing in trauma and suicide bereavement, Dr. Nin has spent many years accompanying individuals and families coping with profound loss and life changes. A native Spanish speaker who immigrated to the United States during adolescence, he brings a culturally responsive and deeply human perspective to his work. In addition to his clinical practice, he teaches graduate students and provides professional training focused on healing, reflective practice, and personal transformation.

The process of healing sometimes begins in moments when life no longer seems to make sense — after a loss, a transition, or an emotional rupture. My work is dedicated to accompanying individuals, couples, and families through these moments with compassion, nonjudgmental listening, and the full breadth of my clinical training. In this way, I help each person or couple strengthen their relationships and move toward a life that is more stable, integrated, and authentic.

Dr. Rafis Nin provides professional support through:

  • Coaching and personal growth, focused on supporting life transitions, emotional clarity, and personal development.
  • Psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families, using a relational and trauma-informed approach aimed at strengthening connection, communication, and emotional well-being.

In addition, Dr. Nin is available for:

  • Professional training and organizational workshops
  • Conflict mediation and resolution
  • Keynote speaking and professional presentations
